WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Part of a major road reconstruction project in Waukesha County is now complete.
Waukesha County leaders and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 14, officially marking the completion of a segment of the Moorland Road reconstruction project between Beloit Road and National Ave.
This marks the third stretch of Moorland Road improvements since construction began in summer 2023.
According to Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, the road sees more than 31,000 vehicles daily.
"It's not just industrial businesses. It's retail businesses, it's service industries that are now getting safer, more effective transportation for the people coming to meet with them. Our local economies are going to be stronger because of this," Farrow said.
Over the next few years, the Department of Public Works will complete the remaining Moorland Road segments from College Ave. to Greenfield Ave.
