MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County held a ribbon-cutting for their new diaper bank Wednesday morning.
The new space is part of the Johnson Controls Volunteer Center that will give families a dedicated place to get much-needed baby supplies.
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley says the bank will help make stronger families by easing the financial burden.
"A strong community starts with strong families, and that's why today's event is so important," Crowley said. "United Way partners with key nonprofits in our community to help with diapers, to help get diapers in the hands of individuals and families that are in need."
Employees from Johnson Controls and others are taking part in a diaper repack event, preparing diapers for delivery to local nonprofit diaper hubs to distribute to families.
