Retired West Allis firefighter celebrates 100th birthday

WEST ALLIS-THE City of West Allis Fire Department took time out Friday afternoon to celebrate a monumental birthday for one of their own.
William Koehn is 100 years old.
He joined the department on February 13, 1942 and retired in February, 1969.
Koehn says he's thought about it and can't really pinpoint any particular reason that he's lived so long.
He feels good and certainly loved the surprise party.
Many currently in the department say even though they joined after he retired, they often heard about Koehn and have come to respect his commitment to community and appreciate just how nice a person he is and always had been.
