Residents ask for more police to patrol neighborhood

Residents in one Milwaukee neighborhood say they're too scared to be in their houses and they're starting to lose faith in police.

Alderman and mayoral candidate Bob Donovan is calling on the department to step up.

\"Someone is dropping the ball here, big time and that concerns me,\"said Donovan.

He said it stems from the crime that happened off of S 33rd Street and Lincoln Avenue this past weekend.

\"Officers did respond, and I'm told by residents,  I'm simply passing on what they told me, that the officers had to be urged to come to this end of the block to break up a fight,\" said Donovan.

Police said District Two officers responded and issued citations to two individuals for disorderly conduct. A few hours later there was an unrelated shooting in the same block. Police said they arrested someone in connection to the case.
