Republicans add exceptions for rape, incest to 14-week abortion bill

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At the Capitol Tuesday, Republicans added exceptions to a bill that would ban abortions after 14 weeks

The bill originally only made exceptions for a mother's health.

On Tuesday, the Assembly health committee added new exceptions for rape or incest. However, the bill is still unlikely to pass.

Even though Republicans have 11 of the committee's 16 seats, the bill barely cleared the committee, passing by a 9-7 vote.

Even if the full Legislature does pass the bill, Governor Evers has indicated he will veto it.
