Reports: Packers consider sitting Rodgers for the rest of the season

GREEN BAY - It's definitely not the 30th birthday Aaron Rodgers had envisioned.

Rodgers has been out since November 4th with a fractured collarbone, and multiple reports Sunday claim the Packers are considering resting Rodgers for the remainder of the regular season. The Packers are 5-6-1 and an odds-making website puts the Packers' playoff chances at 6.6%.

Rodgers has said he wants to play, even if the team is out of contention.

Mike McCarthy's regularly scheduled Monday news conference was cancelled. The Packers coach will address the media Tuesday afternoon.
