(CBS 58) – A new report on public health emergency preparedness was released on Wednesday, Mar. 24.
The report by Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) ranked each state into levels of performance: high, middle and low on 10 key emergency preparedness indicators.
Indicators include states’ ability to increase medical and laboratory capacity in an emergency, hospital patient safety measures, vaccination rates, access to safe water and public health funding.
Wisconsin ranked in the high tier among 20 other states including Colorado, Connecticut and Nebraska. Despite this, experts say there is more work to do.
