Report: White House considering Sheriff Clarke for Homeland Security post

Politico is reporting that the White House is considering Milwaukee County's Sheriff David Clarke for a Homeland Security post.

According to the report, Clarke is in line to be appointed as assistant secretary at DHS' Office of Partnership and Engagement, which coordinates outreach to state, local, and tribal officials and law enforcement. 

According to Politico, this position does not require Senate confirmation.
