Red Arrow Park's Slice of Ice to offer skating to the area starting Jan. 5
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Ice skating season is returning to Milwaukee with the opening of Slice of Ice at Red Arrow Park.
The outdoor ice-skating rink will start welcoming skaters starting Friday, Jan. 5, offering a frosty and fun experience in the heart of the city.
The facility offers free access for those bringing their own skates, while rentals are available at prices of $8 for kids 17 and under, and $11 for adults. Reduced rates are available for pre-scheduled school and non-profit groups.
A warming house and offers skate sharpening services will also be available. To assist beginning skaters, the Milwaukee Admirals sponsor skate helpers and ADA ice sleds for those with mobility impairments, with the aim of providing an inclusive environment.
Visitors can also indulge in a variety of refreshments, including snacks, hot chocolate, coffee and bottled beverages, provided by Milwaukee County Parks.
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley shared his enthusiasm in a Thursday, Jan. 4 press release, saying, "Slice of Ice at Red Arrow Park is a cherished winter tradition in our community. I invite all Milwaukee County families, children, residents, and visitors to join in this special ice-skating adventure."
