MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Three-hundred and fifty Recycle Crew students and teachers stepped out of the classroom and onto American Family Field Tuesday.
The crew got to participate in a day full of real-life sustainable practices.
Recycle Crew is a program for 4th through 6th graders interested in reducing waste and closing the plastics recycling loop.
SC Johnson, the Milwaukee Brewers and EarthEcho provided the students with interactive displays and hands-on activities to enhance their skills learned in the classroom.
"There's a lot of drive and determination to take action and solve problems. And that's what we're all about at EarthEcho, is giving young people the tools and the knowledge so they can solve problems and make their communities and the environment better," said Philippe Cousteau, founder of EarthEcho International.
So far this year, more than 3,000 students have participated in the Recycle Crew program.
