Record Warmth in Wisconsin in September

The data is in, and this September has gone down in the record books as the warmest September. Out of 121 years of record keeping the average temperature in Wisconsin was the warmest it has ever been according to the National Centers for Environmental Information.

This September in Milwaukee went down as the 5th warmest September on record, but the northern half of the state saw more warm days than the southern half.

September started out very warm in Milwaukee with a few 90 degree days before a slightly cooler period around the 10th. The second half of the month stayed fairly close to average. The only variation from average were a few above average days until the last day of September brought the coldest temperatures with a high of only 59°.

Minnesota and Michigan also saw their warmest Septembers on record.
