Reaction to Scott Walker aide fired over tweets

MADISON -- Profanity-ridden racist comments on social media, coming from the Twitter account of an aide to Governor Scott Walker, are raising eyebrows this morning.

The tweets were sent in 2011 by Taylor Palmisano, but are make the rounds on social media now after a report by the Journal Sentinel.

Palmisano was Walker's deputy campaign finance director until she was let go yesterday.

In a statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Governor's campaign spokesperson said, \"Taylor Palmisano has been immediately removed from her position with the Friends of Scott Walker campaign. Both the Governor, and the campaign, condemn these insulting remarks which do not reflect our views in any way.\"

Christine Neumann-Ortiz of Voces de la Frontera had this reaction, \"I think anyone reading those tweets is offended by the viciousness, the dehumanization that they represented.\"

 

Social Media expert Michelle D'Attilio says it's not just public figure who are held responsible for what they put out on social media.

In fact, tweets are now being tracked by the Library of Congress.
