Rare viewing of Austrian Film 'The City Without Jews' to take place Oct. 29 at MAM

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A different kind of artwork will be taking center stage the last Sunday in October at the Milwaukee Museum of Art. It's the rare screening of a silent Austrian film from the mid 1920's with antisemitic undertones.

"The City Without Jews" will be shown along with a new score to the movie conducted by Yaniv Dinur. Yaniv happened to be resident conductor with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for years. And the fact he's a native Israeli, this event has major significance for him.

Meantime, a Wisconsin singer will be lending her voice to the project. She's Donna Woodall. Donna just happens to be "Wisconsin Area Music Industry's" Female Vocalist of the year. She'll be singing a song called "Gonna Get through This World."

The event itself, made possible by the contemporary non-profit organization "Present Music," will be Sunday, October 29th at 7:30 p.m. at the Milwaukee Art Museum. There will also be a pre-performance panel discussion at 6 p.m. Tickets are still available. Click here for all the details and to purchase tickets.
