Rams on the run conclusion: 1 of 2 sheep running wild along Lake Michigan captured
Sunnyview Farm GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After months on the loose, the story about two sheep running wild up and down Lake Michigan has met a bittersweet conclusion.
Sunnyview Farm in Germantown told CBS 58 that they have one of the two sheep seen wandering the countryside. The sheep, now named Hilda Houdini (formerly Burdock), was captured by Cedarburg resident Merdith Biehl, who raises sheep at Sunnyview Farm.
Beihl told CBS 58 that she and her daughter would go out with their bottle lamb, Ash. During one outing, Houdini appeared. With the use of Ash, Biehl and her daughter was able to capture Houdini.
Houdini's travel companion, however, was not so lucky. According to Biehl, days before Houdini's capture she discovered the body of a black sheep dead in a wooded area.
There were no obvious signs of injury or cause of death according to Biehl.
However, Biehl suspects that Houdini visited her dead friend frequently based on the tracks in the snow and the droppings found nearby.
Houdini will stay at Sunnyview Farm as she transitions into farm life after a taste of the wild side.
