Rain Keeps Falling; Some Rivers Start Rising

After a soggy Wednesday morning, it looks like we get to dry out a bit, but we run the risk of showers into the afternoon and then some rain/snow mix Thursday and Friday respectively.  This is the time of year, especially after heavier rains, we start to see aggravated river levels, at least in spots.  In fact, until the end of the week, minor river flooding is expected along the Fox River in Kenosha County, especially near New Munster.

Flood stage is 11 feet.  Currently the river is at 9.6 feet and expected to be a half foot above flood stage by early Thursday afternoon.  It should start to recede into Saturday afternoon.  And thankfully, no significant precipitation is expected into next week although we are watching a system later Sunday.
