Rain and storms today, some could be severe

It could be a rainy start to the work week with your Monday featuring rain and storms. We are keeping an eye on a strengthening low level jet and line of moisture into the morning hours which could produce some stronger storms and heavy rainfall. A storm or two could produce some strong winds or hail. Grab the umbrella as you’re heading out!

This round of early morning showers and storms will dictate what happens this afternoon; the quicker they move on out, the better recovery time will be taking place. We will be watching for a boundary to setup up, which will lead to more showers and storms later today. The way things are looking, the eastern and southeastern portion of the viewing area could be at risk for more strong storms this afternoon and evening. Main threats again will be hail and winds, along with heavy downpours within any embedded storm.

Behind the front and storm system, temps will be cooler on Tuesday with a few lingering showers. Strong storms are not expected by Tuesday with the clearing front. The temperatures for daytime highs will be in the 80s the rest of the week after Tuesday.
