Racine Zoo's groundhog 'Sunny' getting ready for Groundhog Day

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Zoo's resident groundhog Sunny is gearing up for a Groundhog Day prediction February 2, at 9:00 a.m.in the classroom of the Vanishing Kingdom building on Zoo grounds.

“Sunny is not a fan of this recent weather, but she understands she’s got an important job to do. It’s her big day,” said Beth Heidorn, Executive Director of the Racine Zoo.

Sunny was born in 2014 and this marks her fifth Groundhog Day at the Zoo. Last year The Racine Zoo's resident skunk Minnie stepped in to perform the duty of predicting the weather, and did see his shadow.
