Racine woman arrested after allegedly beating child for opening soda

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine woman has been arrested and is facing child abuse charges for allegedly beating a 14-year-old child who opened a soda that he said he wasn't supposed to.

Franchesca Agnew, 28, is facing charges stemming from a December 29 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to a home on English Street where they met the victim who said that Agne got upset with him opening a soda so she struck him multiple times with a thick black extension cord.

The victim then ran away but the woman found him and began hitting him, pulling his hair, and kneeing him in the ribs.
