Racine & Me: Sonnenberg Schools Expands in Racine with New Campus and Community Partnership

RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Sonnenberg Schools, a growing school for children with disabilities in Racine, is proud to announce its expansion into a second campus. The building, formerly home to beloved nonprofit Cops N Kids, has been generously donated to Sonnenberg Schools. The new campus, located in the heart of Racine, will serve students in grades 6 through 12, while the current location will now focus on K-5th grade and the school’s Life Skills Program. In addition to academic programming, Sonnenberg Schools is proud to announce a partnership with Operation Literacy Lounge, an initiative founded by local police officer Gabrielle Hood. Operation Literacy Lounge will lead a variety of afterschool programs for middle and high school students at the new campus.

This expansion marks a pivotal and historic moment for Sonnenberg Schools, enabling them to serve more students, expand specialized programming, and continue to be community focused. We will host a community open house/event where you can check out the new space in August.
