Racine & Me: Racine Farmers Market on the Lake and more!

RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Kevin MacDougall is the Director of Sales for Festival Hall in Racine. He joined us in studio with the details of some upcoming events. In 2025, Racine Civic Centre welcomed over 100,000 visitors to their three venues across public and private events. This contributed to economic development and increased tourism in Racine County.

39th Annual Black History Youth Achievement Awards is happening on Saturday Feb 22nd at Memorial Hall from 12-4pm. Students from public and private schools have been nominated in these categories: Academic Excellence, Excellence in the Arts, Athletic Achievement and Super Person Good Citizenship.

Empty Bowls is happening on Monday, March 2nd at Festival Hall. There are two sessions happening from 12 -2pm or from 4pm-7pm. A $20 donation gets you a handmade bowl and a buffet of delicious soups for local restaurants, bread and bakery with proceeds to benefit HALO (Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization), Hospitality House and the Racine County Food Bank.

Racine Farmers Market on the Lake is opening on May 9th and running 24 weeks thru October 24 at scenic Racine Festival Park on the shores of Lake Michigan, every Saturday from 9am -1pm. Shop from over 60 regional farmers, food producers and artisans. Enjoy educational opportunities, sampling, demonstrations and live music.
