Racine & Me: Racine Family YMCA Celebrates 150 Years!
RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- In 2025, the Racine Family YMCA celebrates 150 years of serving our community, strengthening kids, families, and neighborhoods across Racine County. For a century and a half, the Y has been a trusted place where youth learn and grow, families connect, and neighbors find support.
Today, the Racine Family YMCA serves the county through multiple branches and program sites, offering wellness opportunities for individuals and families of all ages. From sports, recreation, and aquatics to specialized classes and training for cancer survivors, individuals living with Parkinson’s, seniors, and more, the Y remains committed to nurturing healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
As we honor this proud legacy, we are also responding to the realities facing our community today.
Introducing the Bray Cupboard Food Pantry
Food insecurity continues to impact many families across Racine County. To help meet this growing need, the Racine Family YMCA is opening a new food pantry — the Bray Cupboard Food Pantry.
The Bray Cupboard will provide food donations to help stock shelves with healthy, nourishing options for low-income households. Designed with dignity and access at its core, the pantry will offer welcoming, stigma-free service, including culturally relevant food choices that reflect the diverse needs of our community.
The pantry is fully integrated with the Y’s existing supports, connecting families to youth programs, wellness opportunities, and family services — because addressing hunger is just one part of helping families thrive.
