Jacob Kittilstad lifted spirits this week by talking to local powerlifters. The group will be hosting the USA Powerlifting Wisconsin State Open & Masters Championship at Horlick High School. The school has a long history of supporting powerlifters in their club programs – and those same people are hoping to share the sport with the public during the upcoming competition. Jacob also asked his guests about their preparation for these kinds of events – including what they eat and how they balanced their packed schedules. Click here for more information

Next Racine Downtown Corporation came on to talk about their Fire and Ice Festival which celebrates being outside during this lull in the winter calendar. The event will include free ice skate rentals (while supplies last) at a rink temporarily created at Monument Square. There will also be ice carvers working throughout the afternoon, as well as bonfires to keep people warm. Click here for more information

And The Christmas House unveils their next series of unique dinners – this time with a murder mystery theme. Guests will be contacted by a theater company which will give details on which character each person will be playing (as well as directives to people to follow throughout the night). Organizers say the theme will have something to do with 1920’s gangsters - but said the rest would be a surprise, even to them. Click here for more information

Guests: Tonya Lambeth – USA Powerlifting State Representative for WI, Jason Johnson – Powerlifter, Gabi Slater – Powerlifter, Lois Braun – Downtown Racine Corporation Director of Marketing, Anne Yust – The Christmas House Director
