Jacob Kittilstad recognized that there is always another election to be looking ahead to – and the next race on the calendar is for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Chief Wisconsin Appeals Court Judge Lisa Neubauer is running for that position. She also happens to be a longtime resident of the city of Racine. Jacob asked her questions about her approach to the law and talked about how she separates the legislative life of her family members from her own profession in the judiciary branch.

The Battle of the Books is returning to the Racine Public Library and organizers are looking or the next crop of fourth and fifth graders who are up to the challenge. Participants will have to read 40 books if they hope to do well in a team-driven quiz bowl-style competition set for March 2019. The annual event is sponsored by S.C. Johnson which has donated 8,000 books for the competition this year alone. Representatives for the company say they support this event because they see the value in promoting local literacy programs during that critical age for school children.
