Racine man's truck becomes partially submerged in Lake Winnebago while ice fishing

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WFRV) - The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says a truck is now partially submerged in Lake Winnebago after a 57-year-old Racine man brought it ice fishing.

As the man was driving it on the frozen lake, he hit a crack, causing the ice to shift.

That's when the front end of his truck began to sink into the water.

The sheriff's office says he escaped without injury and proceeded to call 911.

The Oshkosh Fire Department and Neenah-Menasha Fire Department responded.

In addition, an Oshkosh airboat transported the man to shore, where he was checked by medical personnel and refused medical treatment.

Police say the truck will be removed today.
