Racine man arrested for allegedly stabbing roommate during fight over rent

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man during a fight over rent.

Jerry Franklin, 57, is now charged with First Degree Reckless Injury and Disorderly Conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of Phillips Avenue on August 25 for a report of a stabbing victim.

Police spoke with the victim who said he had been living with the suspect, later identified as Franklin, when they got into an argument concerning rent.

Franklin allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the chest.

Flight for Life was called.

The suspect admitted to stabbing the victim.
