Racine man arrested after allegedly pushing children to ground during football game at Horlick High School

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man has been arrested after police say he pushed several children to the ground during a football game at Horlick High School.

David Coughlin is facing charges of Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing an Officer as a result.

It happened on September 14.

According to police, when witnesses asked him to speak to the children's parents, he called them them various profanities.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendant was "messing" with children between the ages of 9 and 12. There were approximately 12 middle-school children in the general vicinity.

When officers arrived on scene, they attempted to take the defendant into custody but he scaled a fence.

The defendant was pulled down from the fence but fought all three officers attempts to arrest him.

He was eventually taken into custody where he threatened to beat the officers.
