Racine firefighters extinguish apartment fire Saturday morning; no injuries reported

RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- A Saturday morning fire in a Racine apartment building did about $15,000 damage and has displaced the occupants of the apartment.   According to the Racine Fire Department, the fire was discovered around 8:10 AM in a closet in a second floor apartment in a building at  Crossridge Drive near Northwestern Avenue.   The occupants were able to evacuate the unit unharmed and firefighters evacuated the residents of the adjacent apartments on the first and second floors of the building.  The fire was quickly extinguished, but it is reported to have caused significant heat and smoke damage to the apartment.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
