Racine Fire Department responds to home for report of explosion and fire

Firefighters responded to a home on Melvin Ave in Racine overnight for a report of an explosion and fire.

Crews arrive on scene around 1:30 AM Saturday and found small spot fires on the exterior of the house.

There was damage to the exterior siding and to the wood deck on the rear of the house.

The wood deck was blown about 10 feet off the house.

There was about $2,500 worth of damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
