RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After an investigation the Racine County Sheriff's Office has determined that the 61-year-old man left a bar around 8:30 p.m. and his truck got stuck. Police believe he was walking back to the bar when he was hit by a vehicle.

Authorities say there were no vehicle parts or evidence left at the scene. There are no suspects, but police say the vehicle likely has passenger side damage.

“There's no doubt in my mind that the person who struck him knew what happened. They are probably really scared and I am asking someone to reach deep within their own heart do the right thing and come forward and explain what happened," Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said.

Officials are asking auto and body shops to watch out for damage consistent with a vehicle hitting someone. Anyone with information is asked to call 262-636-3227.

"We’d love to give the Brown family some closure," Schmaling said.
