Racine apartment fire causes $100,000 in damages, one hospitalized

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine apartment fire near St. Patrick and Charles caused an estimated $100,000 in damages on Saturday, April 3.

Officials say it happened around 6:45 p.m.

According to the Racine Fire Department, upon arrival heavy smoke and flames were coming out of a second story bedroom window. All occupants were out of the apartment as the fire began.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined. Officials say there is extensive smoke, water and fire damage to the unit. 

One civilian was transported to the hospital for treatment, Racine fire officials say.
