MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network held their annual Purple Stride walk on Sunday, June 6.
For the second year in a row, it was held virtually.
Pancreatic cancer has just a 10% survival rate over five years. Purple Stride raises funds for treatment and early detection. There are two early detection blood tests in the works that look promising.
CBS 58's Natalie Shepherd emceed Sunday morning's opening ceremony. After the ceremony, people put on purple and went to stride where ever they are.
So far, the fundraiser has raised over $114,000 out of their $170,000 goal. Donations are being accepted for another two months. You can click here to see more.
