Public helps police catch South Side armed robbery suspect

An armed robbery occurred in the 3900 block of West Greenfield Avenue around 7:30 PM on August 9.
A suspect inside the business, armed with a knife, approached the clerk and demanded money.
The suspect took the cash register and fled from the scene on foot. Responding officers and citizens in the nearby neighborhood saw the suspect running away and were able to catch up with him in the 3700 block of W. Branting Lane where he was arrested.
The suspect is a 30-year-old Milwaukee man and is a convicted felon with a previous armed robbery conviction.
