MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Outside Milwaukee City Hall Monday, a Presidents Day protest was held.
Protesters braved the cold weather to protest the actions of President Donald Trump during his first month in office -- specifically his numerous executive orders relating to federal funding, DEI initiatives, and other divisive measures these protesters consider executive overreach.
"Our hope is that we can restore democracy and by doing protests like this, to show like there is support for doing things the right way, and using the checks and balances that we have, and doing things through Congress, like we should be," said Maribeth Stephenson, 50501, Milwaukee Chapter.
The protest was organized by the 50501 Movement and is just one of many taking place across the country Monday, including in Madison inside the state Capitol.
