'Project Clean & Green' collection program kicks off in Milwaukee neighborhoods

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee's Project Clean & Green starts Monday, April 18.

The annual program provides free collection of bulky items like furniture, household items and yard waste for everyone in the city.

Running from now until May 27, anyone can leave out their unwanted items on the curb with their regular trash on garbage day.

Collection crews will target one zone each week and collect up to six cubic yards per property.

Things like appliances, technology and construction debris will not be collected, but you can take those to a Department of Public Works (DPW) drop-off center.

The program is only available for 1-4 unit residences. DPW Sanitation does not collect from apartment complexes (five or more units) or businesses.
