MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The people who run Milwaukee's PrideFest celebration launched something new on Friday, Oct. 8. PridetoberFest kicked off and runs through Saturday, Oct. 9 at Maier Festival Park.
PrideFest normally happens in June, but it was called off last year and this year because of the pandemic. As vaccination rates have gone up, organizers decided to hold a fall festival instead.
"I got a little teary-eyed because you know what? It's been a year-and-a-half since we've been able to get together like this and it feels so good to be back here on these grounds celebrating pride," said Jorna Taylor, PrideFest organizer.
PridetoberFest runs until midnight Friday, and then again from noon until midnight on Saturday.
