PrideFest Starts Today
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin from Wisconsin will be the keynote speaker at today's opening of PrideFest Milwaukee.
At least 30,000 people are expected to attend the 3-day celebration at the Summerfest grounds.
This is the 30th year for PrideFest.
This is the nation's largest LGBT festival with permanent festival grounds.
“It takes a lot of work. We are lucky that we have a permanent festival grounds many festivals don't have that luxury a lot of the resources are not available at other venues,” said Eric Heinritz, Executive Director Milwaukee Pride Inc.
PrideFest opens 2:30 this afternoon. Admission is free until 4 pm.
If you're looking for a ride to PrideFest you can hop on Milwaukee's downtown shuttle.
The bus makes stops in both directions along Wisconsin Avenue to the festival.
Shuttles run every 30 minutes starting at 3 and ending at 12:30 AM.
Look for the Summerfest "Smile" logo on bus stops.
The shuttle is $3 round trip or $2.50 with an M-card.
