MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two Milwaukee Bucks fans are newly engaged and it was all captured on the Kiss Cam.
The unexpected moment happened in front of tens of thousands of people at the Bucks vs. Pistons game at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Nov. 23.
“I was just looking at the kiss cam, I went to kiss him and he was on his knee,” said Christina Cruz.
The happy couple got VIP treatment, along with courtside seats. Cruz says it was the best day of her life and then her fiancé, Richard Dolezar-Jupp, pulled out a ring to propose.
“I actually forgot like where we were, for like a split second and he was putting the ring on me. I could just hear the crowd just roaring in the background. It was pretty amazing.”
Richard had been planning the proposal for months. “She’s the one to show all the videos of these big marriage proposals of these guys doing all these things and she’s like oh, that’s so sweet,” he said.
The ring was a slam dunk. It’s a vintage from the 1940s and belonged to Richard’s great grandmother.
After a 10-year courtship, and a daughter together, Christina says it was well worth the wait.
“Maybe he was thinking, because I had waited so long for this moment, that he had to do something really big.”
The couple has not set a wedding date, but plan to be surrounded by family and friends.
Congrats!
