WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- President Joe Biden was in Wisconsin Thursday, Jan. 25, to talk about his more than $1 trillion infrastructure package and its benefits to local communities.
He stopped at the Blatnik Bridge connecting Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minnesota.
That bridge is in need of repair and will get $1 billion in federal funding for upgrades.
The president highlighted why repairing bridges like the Blatnik are important to his administration, highlighting a conversation with Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin to get his point across.
"Last time I was here I came with Tammy. We're now back this time because we knew this bridge needed a lot of work, Tammy wouldn't let me forget that either. Every day 33,000 vehicles cross that bridge. The flow of people is so critical to the small businesses that rely on that to get customers goods and businesses. It's critical," Pres. Biden said.
This was President Biden's second recent stop in Wisconsin, a pivotal swing state in the upcoming election.
