MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Powerball players have another chance to win a massive jackpot Wednesday night.
The Powerball jackpot is up to an estimated $440 million. The odds of winning the Powerball is just one in 292 million. Despite the odds, the average American will spend an average of $200 a year on lottery tickets, according to CBS News.
The Mega Millions jackpot has also skyrocketed, with no one winning the prize on Tuesday night. The next drawing for the estimated $418 million jackpot will be Friday night, with a cash option of $261 million. No one has won Mega Millions since October. The odds of winning Mega Millions is roughly one in 259 million.
The chance of winning both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are about one in 75 quadrillion, according to data scientists at Allstate.
The winning Powerball numbers will be announced on the CBS 58 News at 10.
