Power Pole Falls on Car After Rollover in Waterford, Victim Flown to Hospital via Flight for Life

Several Racine-area agencies responded after a car rolled over and a utility pole fell on top of the car in the Town of Waterford Sunday morning. The victim had to be extricated from the car and flown to a hospital via Flight for Life.

The single vehicle accident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 7400 block of Northwest Hwy (STH 83). The vehicle was found upside down in a field with a utility pole laying on top of it. There were also live electric wires touching the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle, a 26-year-old female from East Troy was found lying halfway out of the vehicle and was trapped. After power was disconnected in the area, rescue personnel were then able to extricate the victim.

The victim in the accident was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital where she remains with non-life-threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident, but the operator was not wearing a seat belt.
