Portillo's to Open Next Tuesday in Brookfield

Portillo's opening day is July 19 at 10:30 AM in Brookfield in the 17000 block of West Bluemound Road.

The Illinois restaurant chain is known for its Chicago Style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. 

The restaurant in Brookfield will have an exclusive signature dish called the Badger Brat. 

According to a representative for Portillo's, the dish is comprised of a char-grilled Usinger’s fresh bratwurst served on a brat roll, topped with a Bavarian-style sauerkraut and classic stone-ground German mustard.

Portillo's has been working with the city to move guests through the restaurant's drive thru quickly during the Opening Week. 

Another staple of Portillo's is how they move traffic through the drive-thru with attendants coming out to the cars.
