MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee entrepreneurs are getting a boost thanks to a public-private partnership that works to spark economic growth.
Pop-Up MKE gives business people a chance to test out their markets in a low-risk, supportive environment.
On Wednesday, it announced the opening of three shops around the city. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was on hand for the announcement and highlighted the importance of supporting local economies.
"We have to make sure that the people that live in our city and live in the neighborhoods like this neighborhood spend our money here. Because the more we spend the money in our neighborhoods, the stronger our neighborhoods become," said Mayor Barrett.
The three pop-up business will be located within King Drive, Cesar Chavez Drive, and the North Avenue and Fond du Lac business improvement districts.
There are two more rounds of pop-ups scheduled for July and August.
