Police rescue fawn that fell into fountain in Waukesha County

A fawn is recovering after falling into a resident's water fountain in Chenequa.

According to the Wildlife in Need Center, the water fountain was too deep for the fawn to be able to crawl out of on its own. A police officer was able to come to the fawn's rescue just minutes before it drowned.

The Wildlife in Need Center then arrived on the scene. The staff wrapped her in dry towels and bedding, gave her warm subcutaneous fluids, and massaged her body to aid in blood flow.

The fawn was then able to regain its strength and wandered back into a nearby forest.

The Wildlife in Need Center would like to thank the family and the police officers that made the rescue possible.
