Police: Man accidentally shoots self during believed robbery attempt

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are currently investigating a shooting which left a 20-year-old man injured.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday near 72nd and Carmen.

The victim told police he was walking when he saw two people approach him. The victim said he believed he was going to be robbed so he pulled out a gun and accidentally shot himself.

The victim was driven to a local hospital.

The investigation remains ongoing.
