Police: Child struck by car in school parking lot

A child was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of LaSalle Intermediate Academy on Elwood Avenue Friday morning.

The principal sent a letter to parents about this incident.

The student, who had just been dropped off, slipped while walking across the parking lot and was struck by a vehicle, Principal Melinda Ehmer said in the letter.

Emergency responders were called and the student was treated. The student's injuries were minor, Ehmer stated.
