Police call hatchet attack act of terror

 Police are now calling Thursday's attack on four New York police officers by a man with a hatchet an act of terror. 

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Zale Herbert Thompson.

Police say he struck one officer in the arm and another in the head.

The other two officers then opened fire, killing him.

Police gave an update today on their investigation into the attack.

The officer who was hit in the head remains in critical condition at the hospital.
