Police: 13-year-old boy taken into custody for shooting gun at Sheboygan home

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police say a second 13-year-old boy has also been taken into custody and will be referred to the District Attorney's Office for party to the crime or recklessly endangering safety.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police took a 13-year-old boy into custody for allegedly firing a gun at a home in Sheboygan. 

Police said around 12:45 a.m. Friday, April 3, the department received numerous calls about gunshots in the area of North 11th Street and Logan Avenue. Upon arrival, police found evidence of three rounds being fired into the front of a home.

The home was occupied at the time of the shooting. Thankfully, no one was injured. 

Officers were able to identify the suspect as a 13-year-old Sheboygan boy. He was taken into custody and placed in secure custody at the Sheboygan County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police later located the firearm used in the incident. 

This is an ongoing investigation as police are seeking a motive.

The Sheboygan Police Department considers any crime involving a weapon very serious and encourages citizens who own firearms to secure them at all times when not in use.
