RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58_ -- The man charged after his young son shot himself made a plea deal in Racine County court on Friday.
He was scheduled for a trial starting on Monday.
Prosecutors say Jeffrey Pitt was drunk and fell asleep with a loaded gun in his waistband last July.
His 3-year-old son Jeremiah was sleeping next to him. Pitt says that when he woke up, the 3-year-old boy was dead.
