Pigs being taken to processing plant escape
TOWN OF WATERTOWN, Wis. - (WFRV) County Highway A near Watertown is closed after a truck carrying pigs to a processing plant crashed into a power pole, according to the Watertown Fire Department.
The incident happened just before 5:30 AM Tuesday on County Highway A southwest of Watertown in Jefferson County.
According to the Watertown officials, the semi tipped over on its side and the powerline landed on the truck.
A number of pigs got out of the truck and are wandering around the road. The other pigs are trapped, but can’t be removed until Wisconsin Energy can get the power pole off the truck.
The driver was taken to Aurora Medical Center in Summit with injuries.
Officials said County Highway A will remain closed until the incident is cleared.
