Pick 'n Save, Metro Market and Kemps donate 1,200+ gallons of milk to Feeding America

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pick 'n Save and Metro Market partnered with Kemps to provide much-needed nourishment for Wisconsin families during the pandemic with the donation of over 1,200 gallons of milk to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

The six-pallet donation of Roundy's 2% milk took place Monday, July 20.

"This donation of milk comes at a critical time with not only the coronavirus pandemic, but for children who are facing summer hunger,” shares Scott Marshall, Vice President of Development and Communications. “Calcium is such an important part of any diet, especially for growing children. We work to make sure that children and families are not only fed, but also nourished. This donation will go a long way to help us do that.”

The funds from the Great American Milk Drive will support the 1,296 gallons of milk donated. The Great American Milk Drive campaign is made possible by shoppers’ generous donations to help address the immediate need for fresh milk in food banks.

“This milk donation is vitally important during the pandemic. We are thankful to our customers as their generosity helps keep milk, a highly desired but infrequently obtainable item for food banks, available to the most vulnerable populations.,” said James Hyland, Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. VP Communications & Public Affairs.

“At Kemps, we are committed to help fight hunger and nourish families in the communities we serve. We are pleased to work with our partners at Pick ‘n Save, Metro Market and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin with this needed donation to help those in our communities who need it most,” said Dan Williamson, General Manager of Kemps Cedarburg.
